Private Lessons

The studio closed permanently on April 30, 2020. Private students are no longer accepted.

All students, young and old, are encouraged to start playing the piano by using proper fingering techniques and learning to sight-read music while training their ears to recognize intervals and rhythm. 

The piano studio had a warm environment for young and older students and we believe it is more important for them to have a positive experience with music, rather than a strict atmosphere. All lessons were taught by a piano instructor with extensive experience in teaching children. He was also a piano instructor at Grossmont Adult Education and had a special teaching credential for older adults from the state of California.

The Piano Studio had an excellent acoustic piano, five full-sized 88-key digital pianos, five 76-key digital pianos, and two 61-key touch response keyboards available for students' use at the studio. Students decided what they wanted to learn based on their interest and skill level.  

Most children start their lessons between ages 5 and 7 but a few start at age 4 and it's never too late to start learning how to play the piano. The studio closed permenently on April 30, 2020. Students include 4-7 year-olds, pre-teens, teenagers, young and older adults. Students under 14 years of age were required to have a responsible adult present during private lessons.
